Add video to course content area

Select a video to show on the page. The video player will appear directly on the page. Set the height and width options to display the video at the right size, and include a transcript for those that cannot see or hear the video. When uploading an MPEG file, you have the option of including a SAMI transcript file. Otherwise, use a separate text file in the same folder to provide a transcript for the video.

1. Click on the section of your course where you would like to add a video.

2. Hover your mouse over the Build Content button and click Video in the drop down menu.

3. Select your Video File.

3.1. Enter a name for your video.

3.2. Click on Browse My Computer to find the video file in your computer.

4. OPTIONAL: Set Video Options.

4.1. Click on the button next to Original if you would like your video to have the preset dimensions Blackboard provides. If you would like to set your own dimensions for the video, click on the button next to Custom, and type in the set width and height.

4.2. For Autostart, click on the button next to Yes if you would like the video to play immediately when the page is opened.

4.3. For Loop, click on the button next to Yes if you would like the video to be continuously repeated.

4.4. If you would like to "Add alignment to content," click on the button next to Yes.

5. OPTIONAL: In the Standard Options section, you may limit availability for when your students may view the video.

5.1. Click the box next to Display After and enter the date and time that the video will be available to students.

5.2. Click the box next to Display Until and enter the date and time that the video will no longer be available to students.
